Submitting Artwork

Our e-mail address for artwork submission is

submit-artworkKeep in mind, your artwork file size may be too large for many of the popular email clients. Gmail and Hotmail allow 25mb attachments, and Yahoo allows 20mb attachments. If your artwork is larger than this, we recommend using free software such as Dropbox, MediaFire, or HighTail, which allow you to upload much larger files than most standard email clients (you would then send us the link to access your uploaded file.)

You could also put your artwork on a CD or DVD and mail it to us, or better yet, bring it into the shop if you’re local! You can find us at 420 Pine St., Burlington, Vermont 05401

Accepted File Types: Actually, the list of file types that we can’t work from is the shorter list. While we can (usually) preview art in InDesign, Quark, Word, Publisher, and Powerpoint, we cannot output to press in any of them. We say “usually” because if we don’t have the particular font you’re using, it will render in a default font in its place.

Design Services: Our art staff can create artwork based on your ideas or sketches! Contact us to learn more.

We offer custom artwork services

Artwork to be reproduced comes in one of three formats: vector, raster, and hard copy.

Hard copy should be on a white background, 11 x 17 or smaller. All lines should be crisp and clear, pencil should be avoided and, unless the artwork is being reproduced digitally, shading should be as well.

Vector Art, most commonly in Adobe Illustrator and PDF. All fonts must be converted to outlines.  Images of photos or drawings placed into an AI file may not be useable, unless the design is being reproduce digitally. Please save CorelDraw files as Adobe Illustrator. When submitting for screening, colors other than black should be spot colors, not CMYK. TIFFs should be sent as such, not embedded in Illustrator files.

Adobe Photoshop: Image size should be 4″x4″ for small designs and up to 13″x13″ for large designs. Resolution should be 200 dpi. Color space should be CMYK.

Final Artwork Approval: Once we’ve readied your artwork for the press, we’ll send you a mockup. Please look it over carefully. Please check all spelling. Once you’ve approved the mockup, we’ll go to press.
